GOOD ARTICLE ON CREATION

Ian Taylor has written an excellent article entitle
"Genesis and Geology." It can be found at

This article points out that the fossil record does
not really have an evolutionary order. The only fossils
with any real order are marine fossils called "index fossils."
Mr. Taylor also points out that the formation of sedimentary
rocks occurs much quicker than previously thought. Sedimentary
rocks can be formed in a matter of months as opposed to millions
of years. Radiometric dating has to be callibrated to
historically dated artifacts. This can be done to only 4,000 years at most. Rocks, which are perceived to be older, were actually dated in the 19th century by the rate of sedimenation, not radiometric dating, which was developed later. One of the ASSUMPTIONS of geology was that the "present is the key to the past." So the rate of sedimenation in the present was assumed to be the same thousands or milions of years ago. This assumption was dealt a heavy, if not fatal blow by the catastrophic events of Mt. St. Helens, where sedimentary rocks were formed and valleys carved out in a relatively short period of time. Radiometric dating is callibrated to these "older" rocks and the fossils found in these rocks. In reality the rocks are dated by the fossils and the fossils are dated by the rocks. This is known as
circular reasoning. So radiometric dating is not so much a chronometer as a "yes man" to "confirm" the desired results.
