I understand that an army officer, who returned from duty in Iraq thought that our troops would need to be there for another two years.
In other words, he does not think Iraq is an hopeless quagmire. The Iraqis have had a taste of freedom and dont want to go back to Saddam.
I also talked to someone who works at Boeing. His job includes talking to the troops returning from Iraq. The troops say they are winning. They don't want the politicians to mess things up. This person pointed out that the congress stopped President Ford from helping Vietnam. Vietnam fell and millions died. Vietnam fell in 1975.
I think my politics began to veer to the conservative side, when I began to read the lame arguments defending the Communist government of Vietnam such as the boat people were Chinese and didn't want to work. Of course racism must be acceptable if spouted by party line Communist parrots. It is interesting that I saw a different argument later on by these leftist saying if only the United States hadn't intervened then
things would have been fine. These leftists were in effect blaming
the United States for defending a nation against an outside aggressor,
i.e. China and the Soviet Union. Typical liberal, blame the victim.
If these liberals get their way and pull out immediately. And if we have a repeat of the boat people and the killing fields. Then I suggest we take these senators and congress people and send them out in leaky boats in honor of the boat people. The boat people was thirty
years ago? Well, I suggest we not only ship out the politicians
who hampered the Iraq war, but also the people who pulled the plug
on Vietnam out in those boats, such as Christopher Dodd, who predicted
an end to the bloodshed after the U.S. pulled out of Vietnam and Cambodia. The opposite occurred. Dodd and others should be held accountable.
