This book attacks the established state religion of liberalism and their sacred cows: soft on violent criminals, abortion, pretensions of infallibility ( grieving women cant be wrong), the education establishment (read racket), the use of junk science to promote an agenda (global warming anyone?) and the pseudoscience of Darwinism.
Miss Coulter has articulated what Ive been thinking about from time to time. But since she got published first, I guess that makes me a ditto head. Oh, if only I had gotten published first ! It is interesting that she takes Haeckel to task for using drawings of adult males to prove that the black man is closer to the ape than the white man. I think I did express my views on the drawings of Haeckels adult drawings earlier on my website. But I would not be so vain to claim originality. Perhaps I could say great minds think alike. But actually all it takes is a little common sense. It doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure that if Haeckel used fraud in one instance, he would probably use fraud in other instances.
The book is highly detailed and well researched, though I would disagree with her on a few factual points. For example, I dont think it was the jury who decided in the Scopes trial, rather it was Darrow who changed the plea to guilty in order to avoid cross examination. Also I think she mistakenly referred to Wickramasinghe as an atheist. My friend, who covered the trial reported him to be a Buddhist/ pantheist. But I dont expect Miss Coulter to be infallible. As the Japanese say: even monkey slips off tree. Translation: even experts make mistakes.
Ann Coulter does not appear to be a creationist believing in a literal Genesis account. She appears to be more in the intelligent design camp. I wish she would be a creationist and consider that revelation could be a valid way of knowing about the past. In other words, I believe revelation from God as expressed in the Bible is a valid epistemology. (Epistemology is the fancy way of saying how do I know that I know.) But even though she does not seem to accept a literal account of creation, she does a great job of exposing the myths, frauds and phony rationales supporting evolution.
While I devoted my review to her treatment of Darwinism, (she devotes the last 4 chapters to the subject), I must also say that the other chapters are also well worth reading.

THE PARTY OF DEATH by Ramesh Ponnuru
ISBN: 1-59698=004-4
This book is a very eye opening and disturbing book about how the culture of death has pervaded our society. While both Democrats and
Republican have pro-abortion/ pro death members, the pro abortion/ pro
euthanasia/ pro embryonic stem cell people have captured the leadership of the Democratic party. Hence the title.
The author first addresses the misconception about ROE decision of 1973 in the chapter "Overturning a Myth." Many people mistakenly think the decision only lifted the prohibition against abortion in the first three months of pregnancy. In reality, ROE (in conjunction with DOE v. Bolton) effectively imposed unrestricted abortion on the United States and quashed the debate that was going on at the level of the state legislature.
The author in his chapter "Corrupting History" how the pro abortion
side in support of ROE presented a false view of abortion in the United States claiming that the "right to chose" (i.e. abortion) was
recognized from the founding of the United States and that restrictions against abortion were added later in the nineteenth century for less than noble reasons (e.g. racism). The author effectively debunks this claim stating that abortion was an indictable offense under common law and that the later restrictions were
added because legislators, reinforced by scientific advances, believed that abortion was the unjustified taking of human life (pg. 116). This chapter is a must read on how the abortion side produced a totally manufactured history. This reminds me of Jack Cashill's book HOODWINKED, which examines the various frauds, bogus studies and false histories taught to the American people.
The author also points out that the argument over life has moved
beyond the issue of abortion to infanticide. He predicts that infanticide may become accepted practice. And if killing the unborn and infants is o.k., then what is to stop the killing of the elderly
or disabled?
The author argues for the "sanctity of life." It is this very
foundational principle which the Nazi's attacked as documented in the book FROM DARWIN TO HITLER by Richard Weikart. So, the pro life view is NOT the Nazi view.
Europe, Japan and to a lesser extent, the United States face the problem of an aging population and a low birthrate. A low birthrate means less of a tax base to support society's infrastructure. And some may say to save on social security, one should simply ask the old to die. Acceptance of the pro death mentality (abortion to euthanasia) has consequences. It will lead to the death of society. May God have mercy on us. May we once again chose life.
