Classical Music performed in the Japanese drama NODAME CANTABILE

The Drama wiki gave a list of classical pieces performed or played
in NODAME CANTABILE. Maybe Captain Kirk will tell me to get a life,
since I've been watching unsubtitled Japanese dramas. Fortunately
there is a website which provides English language summaries of the
episode. A google search using the words: Garten Nodame, will lead you
to the site. The show has been airing in the Bay Area on KTSF on
Sundays at 9:30 pm.

But I thought it was quite creative to have an 11 episode TV series in
a classical music setting at a music school. I don't think American TV
has done such a series. But one Japanese lady told me she thought it
was a first for Japanese TV as well. If I remember correctly someone
at a Japanese video store told me the series was quite popular.

Maybe the series was an education for me. As a result of the show I
became aware Beethven's 7th symphony and fell in
love with it. It kind of gives me the feel of galloping horses. Also
the oboe piece by Mozart in episode 8 caught my attention. It is
called Rondo. In a way the TV series was sort of a music appreciation
class for me. Not a total course mind you. I don't think there was
anything from the Baroque period. But I think I'd rather watch this
than an English language reality TV show or pro wrestling. The drama
wiki list does not mention the various background pieces played such
as Holst's Thaxted or Ravel's Bolero.
