The occasional rains weren't enough to obscure the beauty of the area around Big Sur, California, during a trip down from Santa Cruz on the 16th. Below, six of the better pictures, including one with the dog as master of all around him. The last shot is from a back balcony at Nepenthe's, a place one must visit if in Big Sur.
