The following photographs are what I call, for want of a better word, waterscapes. The terminology is hardly unusual but the photographs may be, insofar as they lack the usual sort of composition. Long fascinated by fractal landscapes, I found myself delighted by the odd patterns of the waves and the way the sea foam dispersed and focused less on creating a frame of reference than trying to capture the strange shapes nature offers. I am particularly pleased with the fourth photograph in which patches of seaweed sit about doing nothing in particular save disrupting the sea foam's attempts at pattern formation.
