You've increased the likelihood that war will have to come. Increased the likelihood that the UN will wind up in history's dust heap. Increased the likelihood that neither NATO nor the EU will be able to coalesce behind common interests any longer.
Goodness, well-meaning people haven't had such positive effects since Roosevelt went to Yalta...
