The story is pretty matter of fact, though a little too flip in noting that we had met at least a little resistance since two Marines were killed. Le Figaro: Flood of Fire over Baghdad. Libé: Rain of bombs over Baghdad. The answer to our question is, of course, yes, they have. While editorials and citizens still screech, the tone of the actual reporting has moved to pretty neutral and it appears France is beginning to understand that their protests - by citizens or diplomats alike - are now purely symbolic, their ability to influence resting at approximately nil. * * *
