Security Council members to back resolution giving Iraq until March 17 to destroy weapons of mass destruction Which deadline seems to probably be in force, regardless of how the UN goes. The question is whether the administration will continue to push the notion that all France and Russia have to do is be prepared to say Iraq is in compliance with 1441 to stop war. And whether the two are so craven that they would try to manage a straight face and hope to preserve any semblance of honor if they do so. They know he's a tyrant. And they know they voted to deal with the tyrant if he didn't shape up when they all supported 1441. Now they want to back away. Trop tard. * * *
