Saddam had to go, but that doesn't mean we want to replace him; to the contrary, having one more thugocracy turn into a place hostile to terrorism - while releasing enough oil onto the markets to drop prices a little bit - is more than enough reward for our efforts, thank you. To make it clear, this is going to be neither our Vietnam nor France's Algeria because this was neither a holding action nor colonialism (as the first Gulf War sort of turned out to be) and the Iraqi people seem to be figuring that out. * * *
