While I'm much more sympathetic to the Chechen cause than to the Palestinian one, this is wrong. In killing themselves, the bombers did the work of their Russian butchers. In killing fellow Chechens, they did the same. In killing anyone else, they are guilty of atrocities that belie the good name their cause ought to have.
Suicide bombing may sell as an act of frustration, of political conviction, or a million other things. But at bottom, it is suicide: intellectual, moral, social and - often - political self-destruction.
