Now that's constituent service...

The other day, I wrote Congressman Mike Honda, asking what our district could give up to help cover the costs of Katrina clean-up. His response is posted here. It shows, of course, that Mike Honda and his staff saw the word Katrina and sent me a form letter about George W. Bush going to Louisiana and renting a plane to seed some clouds so he could flood the Blacks out of New Orleans in pursuit of his racist goal to make the nation safe only for white family friends (and Secretary of State Rice, though that wasn't mentioned). I'm summarizing, of course. The letter wasn't nearly that measured in its tone.

I thought that the worst of my suffering for trying to contact the mighty Mike Honda with an issue less than dear to his liberal heart would be a curt reminder that neither he nor his staff actually cared what constituents thought unless it helped them overthrow the evil enemy, Bush.

Then I got a second e-mail. For half a second, I thought it might be a more detailed or personal response. Silly me! Now I'm on his legislative update list. I don't know that I failed to uncheck any boxes, but I certainly didn't take deliberate action to get on his e-mail list. I guess Mike Honda's kind of like those outfits, then, that give you a free bit of crap software to get your marketing info. Except that the software usually does something, if poorly, whereas a letter asking for information resulted in the receipt of none.

So here's a new warning for the PorkBusters out there: Mess with the liberal congressmen and you won't just get dissed. You'll get spammed.
