When Sarah Palin was announced as McCain's VP pick, a lot of the country said, "Who?" People who have been reading blogs said, "Whaddyaknow," because while she wasn't the number one name bandied she wasn't exactly absent from the discussion.
Today, the new has moved on to the hurricane, which is going to be the mother of all storms and possibly destroy the world. Since this morning, though, the weather blogs have been discussing the possibility of it dropping back to a 3, maybe even a high 2, depending on whether it "reorganized" over the Gulf. The blogs I'm reading are continuing to suggest this, noting that while the pressure is dropping, it's not dropping fast enough to know for sure what's going to happen and adding that N.O. will probably dodge the worst. Let's cross our fingers that once more the MSM's big story is centered on the talking heads talking to and topping each other, not reality.
For hurricane watcher's, start with Weather Nerd and follow the links to see the developing story. By the way, the Weather Nerd was hollering mightily in the run-up to Katrina that not enough was being done. Let's hope he's right with his latest headline.
